Looks like a nice product, but the cost of a GM ethanol sensor to go with the $200 display is kind of steep. $350 for a sensor is a tough pill to swallow for me . . . and I doubt one could easily be found at a scrap yard. _________________ E85 racer and E85 carb builder

| The modern factory systems uses software to interpret ethanol percent in your fuel. Can anyone create such a device for the rest of us? |

This is such a device that will provide the consumer with that info.
Any development is going to cost someone something in labor, time and materials so the value vs cost is project dependent.
Maybe better questions could be what can this device actually do for you once you know how much ethanol % is there and can you find a suitable alternative for your particular use.
Personally I've found that I can come close by doing math calculation based on fuel tank size and know ethanol % is fuel added. I use the water displacement test method to find ethanol %. Of course this works for me because I always fill up the tank. After driving a while I can take a test from the FI test port and find both methods to come pretty close.
Since the ECM tune is going to adjust for fuel % via exaust readings knowing afr from a wide band would be a primary tool in High Performance or when tuning the system.
On a carburetor set up for racing I would use a drum batch mix system but one could also use the water test method tank to tank and come pretty close, and the wide band is still a good tool.
It really depends on your particular project because if one had to run a long distance rally/race where the tank refills would come from different unknown sources and you had an all out tuned to the limit motor this tool could be a very worthwhile investment.
Just my 2 cents. _________________ 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, 6.0 L non flex fuel, now E85 stimulated!

Considering the MSRP of the GM Ethanol sensor is $700something, i'd say the GM Sensor that Zeitronix is selling is very inexpensive and probably one of the cheapest sources for the parts you can find.
I know for a fact that Zeitronix is making none or very little profit from the GM sensors. _________________ '06 Evo IX Stage 1 by RRE,Walbro 255lph fuel pump,RC Engineering1000cc Injectors, AVO exhaust,RRE flash, (325whp @ 22PSI 91 octane, 353whp @ 25psi on 100 octane, 383whp @30psi on E85),Zeitronix wideband/Ethanol Content Analyzer, Defi gauges |

| Instead of wasting display area with their company name, they should have spelled out "Ethanol %" instead of just "E%". Actually there is room for both. |
