Hi Guys,
Just joined the forums. I have a daily driven '06 Evo with minimal mods making 383whp on E85 @ 28psi of boost. Been running E85 for over a year and love it. Not the most powerful Evo around, but plenty of zip to get around town. Pics of my ride:

my dyno chart comparing 91 octane and E85. Both fuel maps were tuned on the same night
Boost plot. Stock turbo can't hold 30psi very long

Obviously E85 is crap you only gained 17.8% more power!
(yes I am joking)

If you use the numbers from the dynochart, i gained 21% HP and 32% in torque
I was one of the first in SoCal to convert to E85. However, according to my tuner i'm the lowest E85 powered Evo in SoCal since i have less mods compared to everyone else who converted _________________ '06 Evo IX Stage 1 by RRE,Walbro 255lph fuel pump,RC Engineering1000cc Injectors, AVO exhaust,RRE flash, (325whp @ 22PSI 91 octane, 353whp @ 25psi on 100 octane, 383whp @30psi on E85),Zeitronix wideband/Ethanol Content Analyzer, Defi gauges |

im ignorant when it comes to road racing so please forgive my ignorance in this question.....im a drag racer.
but whats all the blue tape on the car for?
what kind of tape is it?
ps.... i like the way the car is diving into the corner and lifting the rear tire, impressive.... _________________ http://www.marksullense85carburetors.com |

Wow, how much torque does that have to get the front wheels off the ground like that?
I'm using blue painters tape which can be found in any hardware store. A lot of road racers use it to protect the headlights or bumper area from flying rock debris when you're following other cars at close proximity. Rocks fly up often when you cut a corner aggressively and the wheel hits the dirt or from dirt/rocks already on the track. Blue painters tape is easy to peel off and will not leave any sticky residue on the paint. _________________ '06 Evo IX Stage 1 by RRE,Walbro 255lph fuel pump,RC Engineering1000cc Injectors, AVO exhaust,RRE flash, (325whp @ 22PSI 91 octane, 353whp @ 25psi on 100 octane, 383whp @30psi on E85),Zeitronix wideband/Ethanol Content Analyzer, Defi gauges |

That blue painters tape is also useful in drag racing!
You can try taping up grill openings to see if the car is becoming aerodrag limited in the traps. Same issue as in NASCAR, if you are running over 100 mph on the big end, air drag is a really large part of your load. If you have more grill opening than you "need" to cool the engine or feed the intake air, you are wasting energy pushing through the air.
Likewise it is useful on a snappy street strip car to keep crap off the rear rocker panels from the burn outs.

They allow you to use tape in Nascar? I thought every part down to the driver's shoe laces have to be spec'd _________________ '06 Evo IX Stage 1 by RRE,Walbro 255lph fuel pump,RC Engineering1000cc Injectors, AVO exhaust,RRE flash, (325whp @ 22PSI 91 octane, 353whp @ 25psi on 100 octane, 383whp @30psi on E85),Zeitronix wideband/Ethanol Content Analyzer, Defi gauges |

Another use of blue tape around the fender wells as mentioned above. I'm the gray car with blue tape on it. And also the car being chased by the camera car.

Oh, when running E85, i maxed out my boost gauge as shown here:
So, i found a new boost gauge which should be suffice for the level of mods i have:
