Would a gas 4150 be best to convert to E85?

Yes...if your doing the complete conversion, then yes.....

metering blocks are not the conversion,

you will also have:
needle and seats,
Boosters, (requires special tool)
Air bleeds,
possible accel pump change....

and depending on the usage and engine size:

I would use a 750 (1.375 bore) 4150 for the street,

OR

I would use a 850 (1.420 bore) 4150 for the track.

you have a PM..... Cool

I plan to build a BBC 427-496 for street use.

Still recommend finding a 750? Or larger?

for the street, you would probibly be ok if thats the carb you have, i personally would use the 850 on th big block, especially if your going to have a little power in it.....

I see there many different list numbers for the 4150. Some are 2 vs. 4 corner, some have a rear PV and some don’t, and some have rear plates vs. blocks.

I guess since I plan to go with QFT blocks, does it matter if it’s a 2 vs. 4 corner?

Also, would it be best to find one with a rear PV so the cast recess is located in the main body, and one can run the QFT rear block with a plug?

Whoa, hold on there guys.

With a potential HUGE range of possibilities for engines I would hold off any any carb recommendations until we know the size of the motr, RPM range, and target HP level.

For a mild 427 a 750 would be good, or a radial 496 would need a 1050 or even 1150 Dominator.

See what I mean?

Let me back up a bit. I currently have a SB 350 which I plan to use as a test mule for the fuel. I want to buy a 750 DP from a swap meet this summer.

I WANT to build a new bigger motor, however I don’t think that is going to happen for a while Sad
